Overview

USU Collaboratory for Innovation in Teaching and Leadership's invites applications for a part-time Statewide Learning Team Facilitator. This position supports a statewide professional learning initiative designed to connect educators across Utah through teacher-led learning communities. Facilitators will help educators collaborate, share effective instructional practices, and engage in meaningful professional growth experiences that support student success.

 

This position is funded by the Emma Eccles Jones Foundation and provides an opportunity for experienced educators to exercise leadership while supporting fellow teachers throughout Utah.

 

This position is primarily telework within the state of Utah, but occasional (approximately once per semester) travel within Utah may be required for in-person school visits and facilitator meetings. Mileage reimbursement may be available for approved activities.

Responsibilities

Facilitation and Relationship Building

  • Foster positive relationships and collaboration among participating educators.
  • Coordinate and facilitate in-person engagement opportunities.
  • Support and encourage classroom and school visits among participants, including at least one facilitated school visit each semester.
  • Capture and share highlights from in-person activities.

Virtual Learning Community Support

  • Facilitate at least one online meeting each month.
  • Maintain an active online learning space for participants.
  • Post weekly content in our digital space and engage with participant contributions.
  • Organize and manage shared resources and materials.

Professional Learning Leadership

  • Encourage participants to share instructional practices, resources, and innovative ideas.
  • Facilitate collaborative discussions centered on the team's educational focus.
  • Collect, synthesize, and share knowledge generated through meetings, school visits, and professional dialogue.

Reporting and Program Participation

  • Attend monthly facilitator meetings with program leadership.
  • Submit monthly activity reports summarizing team engagement and accomplishments.
  • Maintain accurate records of hours worked for payroll purposes.

Optional Coaching Activities

  • Conduct one-on-one classroom visits or coaching sessions when appropriate.
  • Provide professional guidance and support to participating educators.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Education or a closely related field.
  • Minimum of one year of teaching experience in a public PreK–12 school setting.
  • Ability to facilitate group discussions and collaborative learning experiences.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Three or more years of teaching experience in a public PreK–12 school setting.
  • Experience facilitating professional learning communities, instructional coaching, mentoring, or teacher leadership initiatives.
  • Experience using online collaboration and learning platforms.
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships across schools and districts.
