Overview

USU Libraries is accepting applications for a temporary (18-month) part-time project management assistant position to support the migration of the institutional repository (IR) to a new platform.

 

This position is telework eligible within the state of Utah. Telework outside of the state of Utah is subject to review and approval by the University prior to a job offer being extended.

Responsibilities

The assistant will work with a team of library staff to support the entire migration process—including stakeholder communication, metadata remediation, site design, documentation, and workflows. As a member of the project team, the assistant will participate in regular virtual meetings and telephone calls as well as asynchronous communication and file sharing.

 

In addition to the tasks above, the assistant may contribute to efforts to research best practices and standards to inform the development and launch of the new IR.

Qualifications

  • Experience with IR administration, specifically DigitalCommons, from the vendor perspective
  • Experience with repository infrastructure configuration and maintenance
  • Expertise in metadata creation and remediation and knowledge of various schemas such as Dublin Core and MARC
  • Demonstrated communication and collaboration skills

Reporting to the Head of Research Publishing and Impact, this is a non-benefited 18-month position for 15-25 hours per week at $20 per hour.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements


Work is performed indoors in an open office environment with shared cubicle workspaces. Employees are protected from weather and contaminants but may experience occasional temperature changes. The position requires prolonged sitting, frequent computer use and repetitive hand motions (such as typing), as well as regular walking, talking, and hearing.
