  • Overview

    This full-time, one-year AmeriCorps VISTA position is hosted by the Public & School Partnership and is based at The Family Place in Logan, UT. The VISTA member will support development efforts via fundraising and event coordination. VISTA will collaborate with the Development Department with marketing, social media, and maintaining donor relations associated with events and development efforts. The Family Place is looking for a candidate who will create awareness and is personable, persuasive, and able to communicate the organization’s needs.


    All AmeriCorps VISTA positions are full-time for one year, as mandated by the Corporation for National and Community service. Successful completion of a one-year service term qualifies all VISTA members for either an education award of $6095 or a cash stipend of $1800 (direct deposit).  The pay, a living stipend, is $1026 per month.



    Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    1. Acquire donations and other funding for programs and general operation expenses, i.e. donations from coin boxes
    2. Design and coordinate public awareness campaigns centered on services offered at The Family Place
    3. Coordinate marketing, social media, and fundraising activities, including annual-based friend-shipping and fundraising events
      • Set attendance and financial goals and work to carry out events successfully
      • Serve as event contact when necessary
      • Collaborate to improve and implement marketing, advertisement, and design of specific events
      • Prepare final reports on events covering processes taken, details of event, and outcomes


    Minimum qualifications:


    • 18 years of age at the time of placement
    • U.S. citizen
    • Full-time commitment (40 hours/week) and one-year term of employment
    • Not on the National Sex Offenders Public Registry


    Preferred qualifications:


    • Proficiency with computers and various office software packages including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and calendaring/email management
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to create, compose, and edit written and electronic materials
    • Ability to work both independently and as a team player
    • Willingness and ability to respond to changing circumstances
    • Able to obtain CPR/First Aid Training Certificate
    • Able to obtain Food Handler’s Permit
    • Strongly preferred Spanish speaking and writing
