  • Overview

    The Blanding Arts and Events Center (BAEC) Host/Facilitator will serve as a host for the facility. This position will also be involved with facility hosts and facility management.

    Responsibilities

    Administration:

    • Serve as facility receptionist as needed
    • Greet and assist the public in a professional manner
    • Receive phone messages and provide follow-up as needed
    • Update the calendar of events and activities for staff, etc. to review
    • Maintain a professional environment for both the Event Center and Incubation Center clients

    Events:

    • Maintain calendars to display events
    • Host events on site
    • Host will need to be available when the events are taking place, which could be during the morning, day or evening on weekdays and weekends
    • Assist BAEC Coordinator as needed
    • Assist in preparing invoices

    Facility Management/Maintenance:

    • Communicate with NAEC Coordinator as required for facility maintenance and care
    • Monitor building usage and provide assistance and service as needed
    • Keep the office and supply room clean and organized

    Kitchen, Equipment, and Laundry:

    • Prepare, maintain, clean, and monitor kitchen and its inventory
    • Prepare, maintain, and monitor equipment inventory
    • Monitor equipment usage
    • Understand the use and care of equipment and assist/train clients on use
    • Keep the linens laundered, organized, and ready for use
    • Monitor and maintain linen inventory
    • Other duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • The ability to understand and apply principles, policies, and procedures required for the job
    • Ability to effectively handle multiple projects at once
    • Must be able to work under supervision and take direction from supervisors
    • Must be dependable and willing to take ownership of duties/tasks and participate in a shared vision for the success of the Blanding Campus
    • Excellent interpersonal skills
    • Must maintain a professional appearance

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • High School Diploma

    The position requires considerable physical activity. Employees must have sufficient strength to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position including heavy lifting (50 pounds) and/or pushing and pulling of heavy objects.  Employees must be prepared to assume uncomfortable positions such as crawling, kneeling, and squatting. Additionally, the work environment can include confined or narrow spaces. Employees must adhere to safety precautions and may be required to use protective equipment.
