Livestock animal reproduction research laboratory manager.


  • Direct day-to-day operations of a research laboratory focused on molecular and applied aspects of animal reproductive sciences
  • Assist in the design, execution, interpretation, and publication of research experiments
  • Livestock animal handling, surgeries, and tissue collection
  • Culture and other in vitro manipulations of animal cells, oocytes, and embryos
  • Execute and oversee benchtop laboratory research, using such techniques as DNA/RNA purification, gene expression analysis, DNA methylation profiling, protein evaluation, high throughput nucleic acid sequencing, and others
  • Manage junior lab personnel
  • Order and receive laboratory supplies
  • Other duties as assigned


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Reliable, self-motivated, hard-working, and detail-oriented 
  • Four years of relevant experience in a life science-related field, including a solid foundation in general biology, molecular biology and chemistry
  • Strong organizational and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (and/or 4 years of relevant experience) in a life science-related field, including a solid foundation in general biology, molecular biology and chemistry
  • Completed coursework in biochemistry, cell biology, and/or genetics is preferred 
  • Previous experience with in molecular laboratory techniques such as RT-qPCR, bisulfite sequencing, immunocytochemistry, western blot, RNA-Seq, BS-Seq, ChIP-Seq, among others
  • Demonstrated ability handling livestock animals
