  • Overview

    Utah State University's School of Teacher Education and Leadership (TEAL) offers a Clinical Assistant Professor position in Instructional/Educational/School Leadership. We are looking for an experienced and energetic faculty member for our innovative programs in Instructional Leadership. Located on the main campus in Logan, Utah, this is a non-tenure track, 9-month academic year position with the opportunity for summer employment dependent on the availability of funds. The role assignment for this position is 85% teaching, 10% research, and 5% professional service with a 4-4 teaching load (i.e., four classes per semester during the academic year). The anticipated start date is either January 2020 or August 2020, dependent on the availability of the final candidate. Review of applications will begin on October 15, 2019 and continue until the position is filled.


    • Teach graduate courses in the Instructional Leadership master’s degree program and Administrative Supervisory Concentration program.
    • Supervise administrative internships.
    • Serve on doctoral committees.
    • Serve on department, college, and university committees.
    • Other duties as assigned.


    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Earned Ph.D. or Ed.D. by May 2020, with emphasis in Instructional/Educational/School Leadership
    • Administrative experience in excess of two years 
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in relationships with faculty, students, and staff  
    • Capacity for excellence in teaching, advising, and professional service focused on pre-K-12 administration and leadership that advances learning and expands educational opportunity for all students
    • Expertise in one or more of the following areas: school finance, school law, organizational leadership in education, instructional practices for diverse learners, the principalship, assessment and data-based decision-making for school leaders, culturally responsive and equity-based leadership, educational policy


    Preferred Qualifications:

    • A variety of school- and/or district-level leadership experiences 
    • A record of excellent teaching at the college/university level
    • Experience with distance education delivery (e.g., online, broadcast [i.e., video conference], blended delivery)
