Overview

USU is currently hiring teachers to provide clinical instruction to USU nursing students. Positions are located at the Logan campus. This is a non-benefited, ACA Variable position.

Responsibilities

  • Follows an approved course of student instruction with measurable objective for each clinical course taught.
  • Instructs, manages, and supervises individuals and groups in clinical and/or lab settings.
  • Evaluates learning.
  • Maintains and submits student evaluations and records.
  • Counsels students as needed.
  • Assists nursing program in maintaining an effective program.
  • Maintains safe clinical conditions.
  • Other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program with MSN degree.
  • Minimum of two years clinical nursing experience.
  • Licensure as a Registered Nurse in good standing with the State of Utah (or eligible to obtain Utah licensure).
  • Exceptional listener and communicator who effectively conveys information verbally and in writing.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and juggle multiple projects.
  • Ability to adapt to changing conditions or work assignments.
  • Excellent interpersonal abilities.
  • Cultural sensitivity and an ability to build rapport with a diverse workforce in multicultural settings.
  • Team player who excels at building trusting relationships with customers and co-workers.
  • Productive worker with solid work ethic who exerts effort in successfully completing tasks.
  • Dependable, responsible contributor committed to excellence and success.
  • Self-starter who takes initiative with minimal supervision.
  • Willingness to learn new skills or techniques.

Employees work indoors and are protected from weather and/or contaminants, but not, necessarily, occasional temperature changes.  The employee is regularly required to sit and often uses repetitive hand motions.
