Overview

The Classroom Facilitator works with Interactive Video Conferencing (IVC) instructors and students to ensure a beneficial learning environment. This is a part-time, non-benefited position (10 – 20 hours/week) located at the Orem Center. Applicants must be available and willing to work afternoons/evenings and some Saturday mornings. This position reports to the Program Coordinator in Orem. This is an ACA variable position.

Responsibilities

The Classroom Facilitator will work with instructors and students to ensure a beneficial learning environment in the classroom. Facilitate broadcasts of Interactive Video Conferencing (IVC) courses. Operate equipment and trouble-shoot technical problems. Proctor tests, collect assignments, and distribute class materials. Interact and communicate professionally with faculty, students, administrators, and supervisor. Maintain the cleanliness of the USU Orem center by completing routine cleaning and housekeeping tasks in spaces frequented by staff and/or students. Provide updates to supervisor on technology or classroom issues. Maintain accurate class rolls. A flexible schedule and willingness to help cover other facilitators’ shifts.

 

All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Strong customer service skills (in person and over the phone)
  • Requires a basic knowledge of computers and willingness to learn simple technology skills
  • Must be reliable and punctual (this is a must)
  • Work independently and as a member of a team
  • Maintain confidentiality of student information
  • Show integrity and responsibility
  • Able to communicate effectively

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Savvy with technology
  • Experience with IVC equipment
  • Flexible schedule and willingness to help cover other facilitators’ shifts
