Assist and promote the degrees and programs within the Aviation & Technical Education department at Utah State University – with specific focus upon technical education programs at USU Eastern. The position will be coordinated through the College of Agriculture and Applied Science’s Student Services Center and will work closely with the faculty within the AVTE department to recruit and advise students.
The advisor will be part of the College of Agriculture and Applied Sciences Student Services team, with the direct supervisor being the Associate Department Head at USU Eastern.
Provide academic advisement; inform students of program requirements; make referrals when appropriate; complete forms; demonstrate proficiency in Banner (SSB), DegreeWorks, Argos, and other systems used within student services; maintain confidentiality; keep student records; participate in ongoing department and university training; coordinate degree/program materials; complete tasks/projects as assigned.
The focus will be on the career and technical education program and will work closely with advisors with TE programs at the Price, Moab, and Blanding Campuses. These programs will also articulate into stackable, and online degree programs, such as General Technology AAS, and Technology Systems BS programs.
Perform other duties as assigned related to student services.
