NEXT-UP Peer Support Specialist Project Coordinator I

 

The Necessary Education and Experiential Training for Up-coming Peers (NEXT-UP) Project Coordinator will support the administration of an HRSA grant to build the peer and family support specialists workforce in Utah.  The NEXT-UP project coordinator will provide logistical, organizational, and implementation support for the daily activities of the HRSA grant administration, including coalition building, budgeting, and data reporting.  Under direction from the Project Director, the Project Coordinator will develop an opioid impacted family curriculum, advance key relationships with community partners, provide program promotion and implementation oversight, data tracking, and reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Support implementation of a Certified Peer Support and Family Resource Facilitator trainings
  • Modify and support development of a culturally relevant and family-focused curricula in opioid harm reduction and recovery support
  • Establish memoranda of understanding with key partners
  • Work with key partners on developing apprenticeship opportunities and apprenticeship supervision protocols
  • Monitor funding provided for training and apprenticeships
  • Promote training and advanced certification programs through partner relationships, online marketing, and participation in National Recovery Day events in Tooele County
  • Promote CPSS and FRF employment opportunities through workforce development outreach
  • Work with staff and community partners, schedule meetings, arrange travel, schedule community and faculty development activities, courses, and other project related functions.
  • Assists with technical writing for project activities.
  • Prepare reports, financial statements, records on program status and progress for management and the sponsor agency.
  • Assist with writing and editing project related reports and promotional or educational materials.
  • Support the civil right mandate of Utah State University Extension
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Four years of experience; or an associate degree plus two years of experience; or a bachelor’s degree is required in public health, education, project management, or a related field.
  • Strong interpersonal, oral, and written skills
  • Experience in recruiting, supervising, and working with other adults
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to work independently
  • Basic computer skills- Word, Excel and Internet
  • Demonstrated ability to gather, interpret, and integrate evaluation data
  • Access to reliable transportation

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Leadership and program implementation experience in a health-related field
  • Experience navigating grant or governmental program implementation, finances, and reporting
  • Skills in social media promotion and other forms of online marketing and relationship building
  • Ability to write and speak Spanish and English fluently
