The Webmaster I will develop and maintain websites, and web assets for USU Extension and College of Agriculture and Applied Sciences within the USU's CMS, OU Campus. The Webmaster I will create web pages, monitor website use/trends, and ensure that the visual identity and strategic priorities of USU Extension, CAAS and UAES are reflected.


  • Manages existing website, including updates to academic information, news, research, special events, etc.
  • Implements improved design, layout, and functionality of website.
  • Reviews, monitors, and updates the navigation architecture to improve load times.
  • Develops code and styling to improve appearance and functionality.
  • Develops new web pages and temporary special event sites/pages.
  • Monitors usage analytics and implements strategies to improve search engine results.
  • Codes websites using HTML, Javascript, or other web-based programming languages.
  • Works closely with department and/or program personnel to gather content material for pages.
  • Provides training for users as requested.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Two or more years of related professional experience.
  • Experience building new websites and updating existing ones.
  • Experience with writing and editing photos for the web.
  • Must have flexible work schedule for projects that go beyond 8-5.
  • Excellent customer service, communication and organizational skills.
  • Keeps current on website trends.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and email.
  • Proficient in website optimization.
  • Excellent creative, communication and organizational skills.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • The ability to work independently with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Must be results driven, proactive, self-motivated and a team player.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in computer science, marketing, communications, or a related field.
  • Digital marketing and social media advertising experience.
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Graphic design experience.
  • Experience in higher education.
  • Experience with OU Campus, WordPress and Adobe XD.
  • Experience with website accessibility.
  • UX/UI design experience.
