Overview

The Systems Analyst serves a critical role, managing computer systems, security, testing, and serving as a strong collaborator with internal and external partners in order to regularly evaluate and improve accuracy, processes, and student success. The successful candidate will have technology and organizational skills, as well as the ability to prioritize competing needs, and effectively manage change and unanticipated challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in maintaining financial aid computer systems, including yearly testing, loading of student ISIRs (FAFSA data), and packaging students.
  • Maintain a detailed understanding of federal, state, and institutional financial aid regulations.
  • Troubleshoot and analyze applications on a daily basis to modify and improve application systems, to ensure stable and consistent processing of federal financial aid.
  • Assist in reviewing and developing reports to process federal aid for students.
  • Closely coordinate with other staff members to identify opportunities to improve technological efficiency, automation, and the student experience, collaborating with colleagues and IT.
  • Serves as a customer support to students, and provide communications to students as needed.
  • Actively contribute to office, staff growth, and development.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in an IT-related field or an equivalent combination of education plus experience is required.
  • Expertise with the Microsoft Office suite of applications, specifically Excel.
  • Established experience analyzing and implementing federal regulations and guidance.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to take initiative, manage multiple competing priorities, and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, including the ability to bridge functional and technical resources.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze data, identify issues, and construct system solutions.
  • Proven skill in process creation, implementation, evaluation, and documentation.
  • Detail oriented, proven analytical skills, and commitment to accuracy.
  • Strong initiative and work ethic, demonstrating integrity and reliability in fulfilling responsibilities, as well as resourcefulness in planning work assignments and implementing improvements.
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team, along with flexibility and adaptability when faced with changing priorities.
  • Customer service mindset and commitment to student access and success.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Ellucian Banner, SQL programming/coding, and Microsoft desktop applications and operating systems.
  • Strong, established experience in federal financial aid.
