This full-time, one-year AmeriCorps VISTA service position is hosted by the Public and School Partnership (PSP) and is based at North Cache Middle School in Richmond, UT. VISTA Members are placed in local schools to help improve and implement programs that support student academic success and attendance, college and career readiness, parent engagement, student experience, and intervention strategies. Additionally, at North Cache Middle School, the VISTA will help implement and coordinate the school's Academic Mentor Program.
*Internship credit may also be negotiated for university students. AmeriCorps VISTA is a National Service program. All AmeriCorps VISTA positions are full-time.
AmeriCorps VISTA is a National Service program. All AmeriCorps VISTA positions are full-time for one year, as mandated by the Corporation for National and Community service. Successful completion of a one-year service term qualifies all VISTA members for either an education award of $6345 or a cash stipend of $1800 (direct deposit). The pay, a living stipend, is $1102 per month.

*AmeriCorps VISTA members, despite full-time work hours, are considered National Service volunteers, and sponsoring organizations are not required to provide health care due to the voluntary nature of the national service program.

CPD Funding Statement
The Center for Persons with Disabilities is one of the largest research and outreach centers at USU, and we are largely funded through grants, contracts, and fee for service programs. All staff positions at the CPD are contingent upon funding, and all senior staff at the CPD with graduate degrees are responsible for helping to generate funding to support our operations and growth.
