Overview

The Sexual Misconduct and Discrimination Case Coordinator III will be responsible for triaging incoming sexual misconduct and discrimination reports made to Utah State University’s Office of Equity. The Case Coordinator III will serve as case manager for all cases in the Office of Equity, including monitoring deadlines and tracking milestones required by University policy.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews incident reports made to the Office of Equity and assists with triage of incoming reports of discrimination and sexual misconduct.
  • Coordinates and manages cases through Equity’s case management system including opening and closing cases, tracking case process, milestones and filings.
  • Assists investigators with investigation research and reports, and taking other steps necessary to complete investigations in a timely manner.
  • Reviews case files for completeness and accuracy.
  • Uses analytics to analyze case trends and keeps the Title IX Officer informed of patterns and trends.
  • Develops case management checklists, protocols, and procedures.
  • Monitors case deadlines and time frames under University policies and procedures to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Collects information related to potential safety risks and completes safety assessment forms.
  • Communicates with parties and stakeholders and provides information on Equity’s process, resolution options, supportive measures, and resources.
  • Drafts and issues notices to parties, memos to stakeholders, and other case-related communications.
  • Completes requests for information on behalf of the investigation team.
  • Communicates and follows up with other units and stakeholders as necessary to resolve case-related issues.
  • Provides other support to the Executive Director, Title IX Coordinator, and investigation and supportive measures teams.
  • Serves as main point person for case management software used by Equity, manages configurations, communication templates, user access, analytics, and reports.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Four years of related experience; or an associate degree plus two years of related experience; or a bachelor's degree is required.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills in English.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills.
  • Outstanding critical thinking and problem-solving.
  • Excellent self-motivation and detail-oriented.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Case management experience and skills.
  • Proficiency using Maxient, or another investigation case management system.
  • Experience related to sexual misconduct and/or discrimination investigations.
  • Knowledge in data analytics.
  • Experience in higher education.
