Overview

The Public Relation Specialist I works with guidance from the Marketing Director to advance the College of Engineering’s public relations and marketing initiatives. The incumbent specializes in generating editorial and promotional content. One of the primary functions is to develop news and information that reflects USU’s reputation as a premier institution dedicated to teaching, research, and outreach.

Responsibilities

  • Develop media and information to publicize the College of Engineering, its departments, research centers, labs, and student and faculty success.
  • Disseminate information using online news tools, social media, news releases, press kits, and media pitches.
  • Develop copy, photo, and video content to support and improve all web pages and online services within the College of Engineering.
  • Develop content for marketing materials, alumni magazines, annual reports, email marketing campaigns, student and faculty recruiting, and philanthropic initiatives.
  • Plan and coordinate special events, including the Engineering State youth summer camp, alumni & community gatherings, annual meetings & expos, commencement, student activities, and senior design night.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, public relations, advertising, communications, or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
