Overview

The Nutrition, Dietetics and Food Sciences department in the College of Agriculture and Applied Sciences at Utah State University invites applications for a Professional Practice Assistant Professor position. Teaching 95%, Service 5%, 1.0 FTE.
Estimated start date August 1, 2021.

Responsibilities

Teaching graduate-level courses for the 100% online Master of Public Health (MPH) Nutrition program, mentoring MPH students in their applied practice experiences and participating in service to the department, college, institution, and profession.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Master of Public Health (MPH), Master of Science, or related Master’s degree
  • Current Registered Dietitian (RD) with the Commission on Dietetics Registration (CDR).
  • Evidence of teaching experience, particularly in higher education or in the field of public health.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least three years of experience in public health after completion of masters.
  • Demonstration of ability to advise graduate students.
  • Demonstration of strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience with various social media platforms.
  • Demonstration of supervisory and mentoring skills.
  • Demonstration of ability to coordinate projects involving multidisciplinary teams.
  • Experience with leadership and social determinants of health.
  • Experience with curriculum development and grant writing.
