Overview

The individual chosen will be responsible for developing, communicating, and strengthening the brand image of the Shingo Institute, a program in the Jon M. Huntsman School of Business at Utah State University.

Responsibilities

  1. Branding
    • Develop a cohesive visual brand for the Shingo Institute while maintaining the brand equity from years past.
    • Work with Shingo marketing manager to ensure cohesion between the Shingo Institute, USU, and Huntsman School brand and identities.
    • Lead branding and design-related discussions, communicating ideas clearly and practically.
  2. Design
    • Work alongside Shingo team to develop strategically designed promotional materials.
    • Create print for internal and external use, including workshop manuals, brochures, banners, signs, invitations, agendas, posters, special event materials, etc.
    • Create web graphics and electronic resources and maintain the visual integrity of the website.
  3. Production
    • Be able to communicate professionally the product expectations.
    • Prepare design files appropriately to technically suit the execution needs of printers and web masters.

Qualifications

Education/Experience

  • A bachelor’s degree in an art and/or design-related discipline or equivalent experience.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a design setting.

Knowledge, Skill and Ability Requirements

  • Experience in brand development and strategy.
  • Experience in public relations and marketing.
  • Experience designing for print and digital (web, social media, etc.).
  • Strong typographic skills.
  • Ability to work quickly under pressure without compromising quality.
  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of pre-press production and file preparation pertaining to resolution, image file types, sizing, bleeds, marks, etc.
  • Proficient with Adobe software including Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator, and ability to use each for its intended purpose.
  • Proficient with Microsoft PowerPoint.
