Overview

The Up to 3 program is seeking part time employees to help with classroom activities, set up, clean up, and overall classroom functioning for children under three with disabilities. Must be available Monday and Wednesday 9:00 am to 2:30 pm year round.

On-Campus ACA Variable Hours, US Work Authorization is required. Work location will be in Logan Utah.

Responsibilities

The candidate will help with classroom activities, set up, clean up, and overall classroom functioning for children under three with disabilities. 

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Experience with young children.
  • Effective listener and communicator.
  • Dependable
  • Follows classroom procedures and instructions.
  • Able to maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Ability to have attention to detail.
  • Cultural sensitivity, and an ability to build rapport with a diverse population.
  • Team player who excels at building trusting relationships.
  • Productive worker with a solid work ethic, who exerts effort in successfully completing tasks.
  • Self-starter, who takes initiative with minimal supervision.
  • Willingness to learn new skills or techniques.

Indoors, in an office space, event space, or public space are protected from weather conditions, but not necessarily from temperature changes. Incumbents may nearly continuously sit and often use repetitive hand motion (such as typing).

The CPD was established in 1972, and was the first UCEDD program in the U.S. to focus on the educational and social needs of children and adults with disabilities. The IDRPP has since grown into one of the largest UCEDD programs in the nation and is recognized as a pioneer in research, training, technical assistance, and services for children and adults with disabilities, families, and the professionals who serve them.

Funding Statement
The Institute for Disability Research, Policy, & Practice is one of the largest research and outreach centers at USU, and we are largely funded through grants, contracts, and fee for service programs. All staff positions at the IDRPP are contingent upon funding, and all senior staff at the IDRPP with graduate degrees are responsible for helping to generate funding to support our operations and growth.

 

The Emma Eccles Jones College of Education and Human Services graduate programs are ranked #1 in all of Utah and #29 in the nation according to the U.S. News and World Report.
