Overview

USU is currently hiring part-time clinical teachers to provide clinical instruction to USU nursing students on a part-time basis for supervision of clinical rotations related to the USU COVID-19 initiatives located on the USU Logan campus only. This is a non-benefited, ACA Variable position.

Responsibilities

  • Instructs, manages, and supervises individuals and groups in clinical settings.
  • Provide students with on-the-spot training as needed.
  • Counsels students as needed.
  • Assists nursing program in maintaining an effective program.
  • Maintains safe clinical conditions.
  • Other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
  • Minimum of two years of clinical nursing experience.
  • Licensure as a Registered Nurse in good standing with the State of Utah or Nursing Compact State.
  • Exceptional listener and communicator who effectively conveys information verbally and in writing.
  • Must have access to reliable transportation to and from work site, and willing/able to be certified and transport COVID specimens in USU vehicle.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and juggle multiple projects.
  • Ability to adapt to changing conditions or work assignments.
  • Excellent interpersonal abilities.
  • Cultural sensitivity and an ability to build rapport with a diverse workforce in multicultural settings.
  • Team player who excels at building trusting relationships with customers and co-workers.
  • Productive worker with solid work ethic who exerts effort in successfully completing tasks.
  • Dependable, responsible contributor committed to excellence and success.
  • Self-starter who takes initiative with minimal supervision.
  • Willingness to learn new skills or techniques.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BSN degree.
  • Experience with shift supervision or charge nurse experience.
