The Marketing Manager (Marketer II) works within the Academic and Instructional Services (AIS) Division and the University Marketing & Communications (UMAC) Office managing marketing campaigns and efforts. As a Marketing Manager, you will:

  1. Manage projects and communication for Academic and Instructional Services.
  2. Work directly with assigned clients to provide marketing strategy, direction and manage marketing plan execution.
  3. Outline marketing projects with specific requirements, deadlines, and strategies.
  4. Collaborate with UMAC's brand designers, copywriters, video production team, webmaster/systems apps manager, communications team, and marketing director to manage and complete client marketing projects.

Clients include AIS and Statewide Campuses initiatives requiring Logan-based coordination, and others as assigned.


Leads, creates, generates, manages, directs, prepares, and initiates marketing strategies and plans for assigned clients. Handles marketing projects from start to finish with total ownership and utilizes UMAC resources necessary to complete them. Marketing projects include, but are not limited to:

  • Developing and executing media strategies for assigned clients
  • Conducting monthly client marketing meetings
  • Providing strategic and comprehensive direction to the UMAC creative team via Podio for client marketing projects
  • Creating video content for online and possible broadcast distribution
  • Creating marketing collateral with designers, photographers, and copywriters
  • Conducting formal and informal research projects
  • Determining budget guidelines and managing project costs
  • Developing, overseeing, maintaining, designing, and updating online content daily
  • Obtaining proper approvals with client, campus marketing representatives, and other university staff as needed throughout a project
  • Posting, managing and coordinating earned and paid social media content for Statewide Campuses and USU Online
  • A Marketing Manager is also responsible for:
    • Learning and understanding each client's business and marketing needs
    • Developing an understanding of the competitive marketplace in which each client operates
    • Understanding and helping manage costs/budgets associated with marketing projects
  • Other duties/projects as assigned


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, public relations, communications or related field plus two years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education plus experience is required

  • Experience with social media campaigns
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Magnificent organizational skills
  • Superb client relationship and account management skills
  • Proactive, responsive, professional and punctual disposition
  • Must have flexible work schedule for projects that go beyond 8-5
  • Demonstrated ability to self-direct and take initiative on projects
