The Associate Athletic Director for Marketing and Fan Engagement is responsible for the organization, development and execution of marketing, promotional and fan engagement activities for the Utah State University Athletics Department. 


  • Lead the creation and execution of marketing plans for the following sports: Football, Volleyball, Women’s Soccer, Men’s Basketball, Women’s Basketball, Gymnastics, Men’s and Women’s Tennis, Track and Field and Softball.
  • Work closely with multimedia rights holder (Aggie Sports Properties) in the activation of in-venue sponsorship elements.
  • Utilize digital, outdoor, radio, television, print and other advertising mediums to effectively build and promote the Utah State Athletics brand.
  • Manage the annual athletics marketing budget.
  • Oversee all game day presentation elements including, but not limited to, event scripting, in-venue audio and video resources, public address announcements, band, spirit squad and student section coordination, national anthem singers, halftime performances and group experiences.
  • Coordinate and execute community outreach efforts focused on promoting and creating positive interactions with the USU Athletics brand.
  • Manage marketing and fan engagement staff members and interns.
  • Junior Aggie Kids Club oversight.
  • Plan and execute special events such as USU Football Family Fun Day.
  • Create and distribute fan surveys to obtain feedback to help enhance the fan experience.
  • Develop new and build upon existing relations with various campus units and departments.
  • Serve as liaison to student support organization (The Hurd) with the goal of increasing student involvement and attendance at USU Athletic events.
  • Establish effective on-campus marketing efforts.
  • Distribute USU Athletics sales collateral on-campus and around the community increasing visibility of USU Athletics information.
  • Collaborate with the University trademarks and licensing office to ensure correct use and promotion of USU Athletics trademarks within he Athletics department, university and retail.


Minimum Qualifications   

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, public relations, communications or related field plus four years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education plus experience is required.
  • Knowledge of principles and methods for promoting products or services.
  • Knowledge of media production, communication, and dissemination techniques and methods. This includes alternative ways to inform and entertain via written, oral, and visual media.
  • The candidate must have the ability to meet short deadlines, work nights and weekends, and be able to travel when required.
  • One year full time marketing and promotions and/or graphic design experience.

Preferred Qualifications   

  • Master's degree
  • Four to five years marketing and/or graphic design experience
