The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (http://www.cee.usu.edu/) and Extension (http://www.extension.usu.edu/) at Utah State University (USU) invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position as the Extension Irrigation Specialist at the Assistant or Associate Professor level but will consider Professor level. Applicants must have a Ph.D. degree in Agriculture Engineering, Irrigation Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a closely related field. The position is a tenure-track 12-month appointment with a role of 80 percent Extension (includes some applied research), 15 percent teaching, and 5 percent service. The anticipated start date is January 2022. Preference may be given to those with demonstrated expertise in Extension and teaching. The candidate must understand the challenges of irrigation in the intermountain west and be capable of providing vision and leadership in program building, interdisciplinary research, and administrative operations towards developing a nationally prominent irrigation extension program at Utah State University. The applicant is expected to have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, as well as financial and budget management experience. The successful applicant will actively participate in assigned department and university duties and demonstrate leadership in relevant technical societies.
To be considered at the Associate Professor level, candidates must have an established reputation in teaching, research, extension, and service; and broad recognition for professional success in the field.
