This part-time (10-20 hours/week), non-benefited position is housed at the USU Orem Center and reports directly to the Orem Center Manager. The goal of this position is to facilitate Interactive Video Conferencing (IVC); proctor tests; aid students with their tech needs, and provide customer service over the phone and in person to USU students. Applicants must be flexible and willing to work mornings, afternoons, or evenings.


Schedule tests over the phone. Provide prompt and accurate information regarding programs and degrees offered at USU Orem Center, testing and other USU student services.


Testing Center
Get the testing center ready for the scheduled exams. Proctor student exams in a secure and professional manner while maintaining student confidentiality and security of materials and exams. Troubleshoot any technical issues that may arise during testing procedures.


Open rooms and set up for IVC and face-to-face meetings and classes. Provide support as needed for classroom technology, originations, and facilitation of classes. Troubleshoot any technical problems that may arise before or during IVC broadcasting.


Center Support
Be punctual. Interact and communicate professionally with other facilitators, faculty, students, administrators, and supervisor. Maintain the cleanliness of the center by completing assigned cleaning tasks daily. Provide updates to supervisor on technology or classroom issues. Be flexible and willing to help cover other facilitators’ shifts.


All other duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Strong customer service skills (in person and over the phone)
  • Basic knowledge of computers and willingness to learn simple technology skills
  • Must be reliable and punctual (this is a must)
  • Work independently and as a member of a team
  • Show integrity and responsibility
  • Able to communicate effectively

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Banner, Canvas, and other USU systems
  • Experience with IVC and Zoom technologies
  • Flexible schedule and willingness to help cover other facilitators’ shifts

Advertised Salary

$12.00 per hour


Employees work indoors and are protected from weather and/or contaminants, but not, necessarily, occasional temperature changes. The employee is regularly required to sit and often uses repetitive hand motions. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms and may lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
