The Controller's Office is seeking applicants for their Accounting Assistant positions. These self-motivated individuals will be responsible for Accounts Payable related tasks at Utah State University. There are currently two positions available. 


  • Process payments in the e-procurement system, USU EZ-BUY
  • Will be responsible for sorting, sealing, and mailing university checks.  This may include delivering items to the Cashier’s Office or to other offices on campus as needed
  • Includes any other accounts payable related tasks assigned by supervisor
  • Answer multiple telephone lines in a professional manner
  • Assist students and campus personnel at front counter
  • Work with vendors to resolve payment issues


Minimum Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Accounts Payable procedures
  • Two years of bookkeeping/accounting related work experience, or Associates degree or certification in a designated field.
  • Must be able to communicate in a professional manner both verbally and in written form
  • Must have experience in working in multiple computer programs simultaneously including Windows, Excel, and web browsers
  • Must be able to handle confidential information
  • Demonstrate a willingness to learn and acquire new skills
  • Accurate ten-key and keyboarding required
  • Finalist may be required to perform a ten-key and/or keyboarding test at the time of the employment interview

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of USU's Banner Finance System
  • Knowledge of University Travel Policies and procedures

Employees work indoors and are protected from weather and/or contaminants, but not, necessarily, occasional temperature changes.  The employee is regularly required to sit and often uses repetitive hand motions.
