Overview

The Assistant Director of Recruitment reports directly to the Director of Recruitment within the Admissions Office and the Director of Students at Utah State University Eastern. This position is primarily responsible for recruiting and enrollment for Utah State University Eastern and is part of the Admissions Office leadership team. The Assistant Director (Program Coordinator II) is a critical manager/leader in the development of the in-state and out-of-state strategies for undergraduate recruitment and enrollment and is tasked with increasing new student enrollment at Utah State University Eastern. This position will be based on and will operate from the USU Eastern campus in Price.

Responsibilities

As a member of the Admissions leadership team, responsibilities include territory management and recruitment strategies for prospective students and other specified populations, providing them with information about the University, and facilitating their enrollment to Utah State University Eastern. While the successful candidate will work under a system approach, their sole focus will be enrollment at the Utah State University Eastern campus.

Duties and responsibilities include:

  • Implement specific strategies to recruit in-state, out-of-state and transfer students to USU Eastern. Implement various recruitment events (ie fairs, open houses and receptions)
  • Vision of territory recruitment, this includes identifying potential growth areas and implementing a concentrated plan for recruitment in these areas
  • Provide assessment and recommendation to the director regarding all recruitment activity, enrollment patterns, potential growth markets and effectiveness of recruitment practices
  • Hires and supervises Admissions Specialists, monitors and evaluates staff assignments, leave and expectations
  • Holds Admissions Specialists accountable for assigned territory
  • Create, implement and carry out trainings on USU Eastern for all Systemwide recruitment and admissions staff.
  • Recruit CRM management including goals, territories, training and reports for Admissions Specialists
  • Coordinates timely assessment of students through the application funnel;
  • Manage all travel and college fair expenditures and budget
  • Execute scholarship awarding for all academic, ambassador, involvement and legacy scholarships
  • Analyze competition and external factors that affect recruitment efforts
  • Utah Higher Ed Day Coordination
  • High School Counselor Coordination
  • Ambassador advising, mentoring, selection and meetings
  • Update and publish sections of the annual recruitment plan specific to USU Eastern
  • Coordinates email and text messages for prospective students through Recruit CRM
  • Update and maintain recruitment communication plan and timelines
  • Perform recruiting activities in an assigned territory
  • Collaborate with Marketing Manager to promote USU Eastern to prospective students
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Up to 50% travel is required

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in a related field
