Overview

USU Eastern in Price, Utah is accepting applications for a part-time bus driver & motor pool assistant with Class B license or better, no air brake restrictions/with a passenger endorsement. Utah State University Eastern Motor Pool buses service athletic teams, student activities, and faculty/staff events.

Responsibilities

This position will be required to drive at least, but not limited to two trips a month during our fall and spring semesters. During the summer months of May through July or during slower periods of the year this position will assist part-time in the motor pool with cleaning and minor maintenance on all vehicles. This position will also be required to participate and stay current in all of the Utah State University employee's required training and will be expected to be courteous and professional. Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications

  1. Class B CDL driver's license no airbrake restrictions w/passenger endorsement.
  2. Current CDL Medical Card.
  3. Excellent Customer Service skills.
  4. Be able to identify and report vehicle maintenance issues and have a basic understanding of equipment operations.
  5. Employment subject to State of Utah Defensive Driving Test completion and Background check.

The environment and physical requirements may change depending on the specific function of the work each department performs. Incumbents may be in both indoor and outdoor environments. Indoors, in an office space, event space, or public space are protected from weather conditions, but not necessarily from temperature changes. Incumbents may nearly continuously sit and often use repetitive hand motion (such as typing).

 

Outdoors, incumbents may not be protected from weather conditions and may be exposed to extreme heat and extreme cold. Additionally, indoor or outdoor work environments may include being confined or in narrow spaces for periods of time. The incumbent may also be exposed to loud noises or vibrations from equipment, and conditions that may affect the respiratory system, such as fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases, and poor ventilation. Bending, crawling, and crouching may be required. Incumbents may be required to lift, push, and/or pull objects up to 50 pounds and be required to walk and/or stand for long periods of time.
