Overview

Utah State University Institute for Disabilities Research, Policy & Practice (IDRPP) is seeking a Teacher, Early Intervention to join the Up to 3 Early Intervention Program. Preference is for full-time position but will consider two part-time positions for the appropriate applicants (between 50% - 100% time). This position will be based on the USU-Logan campus with a work space at the IDRPP.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the development and implementation of the Up to 3 Play Group including project evaluation/ data collection to determine impact of service.
  • Participate in the Pyramid Model trainings including requirements to become a Pyramid Model Network Coach.
  • Participate on the Local Pyramid Model Leadership Team.
  • Plan and facilitate Pyramid model services in group setting for children and families of all developmental levels.
  • Provide parent training for children enrolled in Up to 3 both face-to-face, groups and individual through Up to 3 hybrid service model procedures.
  • Coach parents in Pyramid Model, Tier III strategies to address challenging behaviors of children to address behavior needs of children as identified on their individual service plan.
  • Responsible for assessing, helping develop IFSP, implement service pattern, participate in staff meeting, travel to homes and community sites to provide services.
  • Work and coordinate with the Up to 3 administration and staff to work effectively as an independent and self-motivated, professional staff member.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Special Education, Psychology, Family and Human Development, social work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Behavioral science, disability studies, early childhood education or related field.
  • Skills, knowledge, and experience specifically focused on the needs of young children (Birth to 3 years) and their families.
  • Have or obtain a Baby Watch Early Intervention Certification.

  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Organization skills with timely data entry, scheduling, and priority setting.
  • Excellent interpersonal, networking, community, organizational, problem solving, decision-making skills.
  • A commitment to lifelong learning and personal growth, including willingness to engage in ongoing multicultural development and dialogues.

Funding Statement

The Institute for Disability Research, Policy, & Practice is one of the largest research and outreach centers at USU, and we are largely funded through grants, contracts, and fee-for-service programs. All staff positions at the IDRPP are contingent upon funding, and all senior staff at the IDRPP with graduate degrees are responsible for helping to generate funding to support our operations and growth.
