Overview

The Marketer III will have the opportunity to shape and implement programs to support the central research mission of Utah State University. The incumbent will manage all materials, events, and programs focused on USU-internal research communication.

Responsibilities

  • Plan the promotion, programming, logistics, and evaluation of research recognition projects
  • Develop strategies to recognize research-related university accomplishments, including faculty fellowships, new patents, large grants, key publications, etc.
  • Oversee development of key programs and resources to assist faculty and students in proposing, conducting, and reporting on their research.
  • Work with division directors and HR training specialists to develop online training resources for key research topics.
  • Facilitate as-needed in-person or virtual events to share important research topics.
  • Assist with communications surrounding undergraduate and graduate research programming.
  • Help manage other communication tasks to support the Office of Research and its divisions.
  • Assist with drafting certain web content for Office of Research websites.
  • Assist with communication projects for Office of Research divisions, as prioritized by the executive director and vice president for research.
  • Other tasks as needed that may include but not be limited to management of team members and projects, graphic design, photography, editing, clerical duties, etc.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in marketing, public relations, communications or related field plus four years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education plus experience is required.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  1. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  2. Ability to conceptualize, plan, organize and evaluate events and workshops.
  3. Knowledge of project planning and management.
  4. Knowledge of marketing/communication principles.
  5. Ability to gather data, analyze information, and prepare reports.
  6. Ability to manage and impart information to a range of people/groups.
  7. Database and records management skills.
  8. Excellent writing, proofreading, and editing skills.
  9. Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
  10. Computer skills, including Word, Access, PowerPoint, and Excel.
