Overview

Utah State University is seeking a qualified individual to serve as a recruiter and outreach specialist in our Kaysville area. This dynamic individual will engage the community and be a presence in the local area as a representative of USU Kaysville. They will have a strong recruiting role to help build programs. This will include meeting with local organizations, businesses, and educational institutions, as well as attending promotional events. They will oversee activities on our campus related to educational opportunities and help out with daily operations of our campus. They will also have oversight over social media campaigns and outreach. This is a great opportunity for an outgoing, upbeat, and positive personality.

Responsibilities

Primary Duties – Recruiting, Community Interaction, Events oversight, back up for front desk

  1. Serve as the Recruiter for the USU Kaysville Campus, including managing recruitment records and communications, attending fairs and events that promote USU Kaysville, building relationships with community entities, scheduling and facilitating tours, and assisting students as they proceed through the admissions process.
  2. Utilizes social media to promote efforts across all areas of responsibility.
  3. Sits on the marketing committee to discuss options and offer suggestions in promoting USU Kaysville and its services.
  4. Is the content manager for USU Kaysville social media pages.
  5. Assist in performing office duties, including answering phones, directing calls to appropriate parties, data entry, filing, appointment scheduling, and other general duties as assigned.
  6. Assists with recruitment efforts, such as calling campaigns, business visits, and tabling.
  7. Composes various standard documents, correspondence and reports.
  8. Oversees and ensures currency of website content.
  9. May provide non-business-related support for departmental programs and projects.
  10. Responsible for engaging and integrating into community organizations, groups, and entities by being present at meetings and happenings.
  11. Create strong partnerships with other educational institutions, shared entities on site, governmental entities, and local organizations.
  12. Work in conjunction with advancement, alumni, and development groups in regard to fund raising, scholarships, and relationship building.
  13. Participate in fund raising and scholarship generation events and activities
  14. Manage the CRM for the Kaysville area
  15. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field; or an associate degree with an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong customer service orientation, experience, or knowledge with the ability to apply those skills in creating positive experiences while interacting with others.
  • Effective presentation and speaking skills especially with the ability to present a positive message to groups and one on one.
  • Ability to work in a team setting with a service-oriented attitude, a desire to strive for continuous improvement.
  • Responsive, creative, and able to work independently without strong oversight
  • Ability to travel to events and activities and ability to adapt schedule to participate in these.
  • Proficiency with common computer software such as word processing, presentations, spreadsheets, databases, etc.
  • Ability to build and enhance relationships and promote diversity and inclusion with all stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in an educational setting
  • Experience working with post traditional students
  • Marketing or promotional experience
  • History of being engaged in community organizations
  • Familiarity with distance delivery systems and experience operating in differing modalities such as interactive video conference, online, and blended formats
