Overview

Upward Bound Office Assistant will perform a range of basic office support duties; including performing routine clerical, data entry, and/or word processing, and knowledge of key social media platforms, technology tools, and graphics. Assistant will work with UB director and program coordinator to complete tasks relating to the Upward Bound program. There will be times when assistant will need to assist with UB activities outside of the office. This is part-time; 15-19 hours a week, $15 an hour position.

Responsibilities

  1. Establishes, maintains, processes, and/or updates files, records, database, and/or other documents.
  2. Ability to be flexible and organized while multi-tasking.
  3. Provide support in social and motivational services and activities with UB students.
  4. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Twenty-four college credit hours or experience working with high school students
  • Ability to adapt to changing conditions or work assignments.
  • Experience in record keeping, planning promoting, and organizing.
  • Knowledge of the TRIO Upward Bound program.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  1. Word processing including Microsoft Office/Word/Excel/Publisher/Power Point/Video Production.
  2. Ability to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures.
  3. Experience working with high school students in promoting education opportunities, college admission, and financial aid.
