We are currently hiring for an Event Technology Specialist / IT internship to join our team. This internship is primarily responsible for assisting in the equipment storage and check-out process for staff and Community incubator & Co-working clients. This is a 4-month (Summer) Internship.


As the event technology specialist, you will be the primary booking contact for SPARC Building services scheduling. Support scheduled events and presentation media and audio/visual equipment needs. Events may include but are not limited to press conferences, ceremonies, town hall meetings, video teleconferences, training, webinars, and business events.

Provide one-on-one client support services with computer equipment, printing, and software support. You will become familiar with basic website design and data analytics and—administrative duties as assigned.


You will receive initial training and ongoing support through the campus technology coordinator and the Industry Certification & Workforce Skills Training Coordinator. Additional training will be expected and provided to help you excel at your job.


Typical start time/end time:
• Flexible
• Business hours 8-6
• Hours to be set with the director in the first week of internship.

Education: (Preferred but not required)

  • Current student in IT supports web development, management information systems, technology systems, technology & engineering education, business or relevant field (3.0 GPA minimum required for paid internship)


  • Familiarity with Google, Microsoft 365
  • Written and communications skills
  • Desire to own projects from start-to-finish
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Experience with website design (preferred but not required)
  • Ability to solve problems and recognize patterns

Ideal candidate:

  • May just be entering the workforce or returning to the workforce with limited experience and education.
  • Looking for real-world experience in information systems, business, and customer service.
  • Interested in networking opportunities for long-term career opportunities.
