The College of Agriculture and Applied Sciences (CAAS) Marketing Manager (Marketer II) is responsible for managing the marketing and communications efforts of the college and reports to the director of marketing. This position will work closely on projects with other members of the CAAS marketing team. This position focuses on creating and implementing marketing plans and campaigns to promote degree programs and college events. This position works on college recruitment efforts online and offline to increase student enrollments. The incumbent must have a marketing background and strong writing and communication skills. The incumbent must be a team player and have superb leadership and supervisory skills. The incumbent must be willing to collaborate, be customer service oriented, be flexible and a problem solver.


  • Writing and implementing marketing plans for programs and departments
  • Oversee the CAAS website (strategy, content, SEO, etc.)
  • Oversee CAAS social media accounts (including departments, clubs, etc.)
  • Oversee CAAS video and photo projects, graphic design projects, and project requests
  • Market research
  • Recruitment and retention marketing efforts
  • Email marketing campaigns
  • CAAS recruitment marketing campaigns, materials, and strategies (ROI reports, email communication, ads, etc.)
  • Department and program/degree specific marketing
  • Assist with marketing and branding of CAAS business entities
  • Approve marketing and recruitment materials
  • Print and digital advertisements (Google AdWords, Facebook ads, etc.)
  • Support CAAS event
  • Product ordering (swag, banners, signage, etc.)
  • Liaison with departmental marketing staff, advancement and recruitment
  • Internal communications and trainings
  • Supervise employees
  • Brand compliance, design approvals, and coordinating with the trademark office
  • Attend administrative meetings
  • Other duties as assigned


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, public relations, advertising, communications, or related field.
  • At least one year of public relations and marketing experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, website editing and newsletter production and distribution.
  • Experience with supervising people, project management, marketing and branding.
  • Experience in developing, coordinating and executing communication plans
  • Savvy in social media and social media applications.
  • Some travel required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in ag related communications.
  • Prior experience with student recruitment.
  • Website development skills.
  • Experience with Canva, Asana, DRIP, and Constant Contact

  • Strong writing skills for articles and social media posts
  • Strong website/electronic media development skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and entrepreneurial spirit required.
  • Good analytical, writing and communication skills.
  • Ability to follow directions and be proactive.
  • Ability to manage time effectively.
  • Ability to work in front of a computer.
  • Ability to verbally communicate effectively.
  • Ability to supervise and manage others.
  • Ability to analyze results of all marketing and communications activity and present findings and recommendations to the director.
