Within this context, the Student Services Coordinator serves a critical role in guiding students and families through the federal aid application and payment processes, auditing and completing student files for application review, and analyzing reports and accounts to maintain university compliance with federal regulations.


Position Summary

  • Full-time, in-person position at the Logan Campus. This is not a tele-work position.
  • Audit and finalize student files for application review.
  • Analyze reports and monitor accounts to maintain university compliance with federal regulations.
  • Guide students and families through the federal aid application and payment processes.


  • Learn and master federal and state financial aid regulations, university, and office policies.
  • Review, accept/reject documentation submitted for FAFSA Verification, message students and families to gather required documentation.
  • Generate and monitor database reports to ensure that USU is complying with federal regulations.
  • Interact with and assist students and families in person, phone, chat, email, system messaging, web conferencing, etc.
  • Identify, comprehend, and resolve account problems.
  • Help determine solutions to account and communication issues using web, email etc.
  • Participate in outreach activities.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Two years of experience in an office setting or an associate degree/vocational training is required.
  • Strong team-building and other soft skills.
  • Strong, positive customer relations experience.
  • Previous office systems experience - spreadsheets, word processing, email etc.
  • Ability to refocus and prioritize during busy times, adaptability to change, ability to work without supervision/self-motivated.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Previous federal financial aid experience
  • Fluency in Spanish
  • Banner Admin experience
  • CampusLogic experience

Employees typically work in an office environment and are protected from weather conditions or contaminants, but not necessarily occasional temperature changes. However, in certain instances employees may work outdoors and may not be protected from weather conditions.  Employees nearly continuously sit and often use repetitive hand motions.
