Overview

The Program Coordinator for Community Engagement and External Relations (Program Coordinator II) at the Uintah Basin Campus has stewardship for critical interactions with the larger Uintah Basin community including external stakeholders and partners, including the Alumni Association.  They will manage community engagement and be the representative for Uintah Basin Campus on Community Boards and Committees (e.g. Hospital and other educational partners, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Stewardship for external relations, communications, coordination, and strategic interactions with community and educational partners, stakeholders, and community at large events.
  • Serves on community boards and committees.
  • Management, stewardship, and strategic planning for all alumni related interactions, activities, support, and communication for the Uintah Basin.
  • Communicates with community groups and provides professional presentations on behalf of the Uintah Basin Campus.
  • Strategic planning for Uintah Basin Campus marketing and social media.
  • Writes and/or assists with grants and proposals as appropriate to the objectives and funding nature of the program; may participate in other fundraising activities.
  • Collects and analyzes data; prepares scheduled and special reports; maintains program records and statistical information to meet state and federal requirements.
  • Analyzes problems and applies corrective action as needed.
  • Ensures that programs are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Monitors and administers program revenues and expenses; may develop or participate in the development of funding proposals for the program.
  • May contribute to business and operational decisions that affect the department.
  • May advise and advocate for students participating in the program.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualification:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field plus two years of relevant work experience; or a master’s degree in a related field; or an equivalent combination of education plus experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of principles and practices related to specific program.
  • Knowledge of research and information gathering methods and procedures.
  • If applicable, knowledge of grant development, implementation, budgeting, fiscal control, and reporting.
  • Ability to make administrative/procedural decisions and judgments.
  • Ability to coordinate and organize meetings and/or special events.
  • Skilled in the use of personal computers and related software applications.
  • Skilled in organizing resources and establishing priorities.
  • Skilled at records maintenance.
  • Ability to lead and train staff and/or students.
  • Ability to interact with students, faculty and/or staff in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of communication principles, media, and marketing techniques.
  • Ability to gather and analyze statistical data and generate reports.
  • Program specific knowledge, skills, and abilities as described in recruitment notices.
  • Ability to exercise a high level of creativity, decision making, problem solving, and discretion as work is varied and may be undefined.
