Utah State University is searching for a Tenure-Track Assistant Professor to develop and teach courses in the agricultural education undergraduate program and contribute to the graduate program. This is a 9-month, faculty position at the Assistant Professor level with teaching interests in agricultural and career and technical education inclusive of agricultural education and/or agricultural literacy. The position will be filled no later than August 1, 2023, as classes begin on August 29, 2023. The Assistant Professor position will be approximately 65% teaching, 30% research, and 5 % service.

• The successful candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses and be expected to mentor all levels of students.
• This candidate will be expected to develop an independent, externally funded research program that complements or expands existing departmental research within the areas of school-based agricultural education and/or agricultural literacy.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Earned Ph.D. in Agricultural Education, Career and Technical Education, or closely related field (completed by the date of appointment)
• Evidence of excellence in teaching in K-12 public schools or the post-secondary level for a minimum of 3 years
• Experience in leadership positions with agricultural youth and/or adult organizations (i.e., FFA, 4-H, and/or Young Farmers)
• Evidence of potential for effectiveness in research and ability to secure funding

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience teaching at the collegiate level
• Experience with educational technology, online instruction, and various teaching methods
• Experience with conducting agricultural literacy and or agricultural education research
• Publication of peer-reviewed research
• Evidence of extramural funding
