Overview

University Marketing & Communications is looking for a creative and dependable individual to assist with the processing of photo content. We want an individual with proven experience, that is attentive to detail and has a creative eye. This position will report to our Director of Video and Imaging and work on a team of talented creatives. View examples of our work at usu.photoshelter.com.

 

As a photo assistant, you will assist the lead photographer in primarily processing images. Editing in Lightroom to publishing on our online platform. Occasionally, this person will provide grip support on shoots and photograph campus events.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and organize assets – keywording/renaming in Lightroom
  • Publish content to Photoshelter
  • Understand post processing techniques to provide consistent images
  • Detail oriented with prompt communication
  • Update status of tasks as they are completed in our project management software
  • Provide grip support on shoots for the lead photographer
  • Knowledge of cameras, lenses and lighting and the ability to use them on occasion
  • Take photos at events with and without the lead photographer
  • Be a creative resource to the team

Qualifications

  • A passion for photography
  • Experience using Lightroom and managing photo content
  • Ability to complete tasks and work without direct supervision
  • Meticulousness and an eye for minute detail

Daytime availability is a must with occasional evening and weekend requirements. This position will be on campus around 20 hours per week between the hours of 8 am and 5 pm.

Advertised Salary
