Overview

The Civil and Environmental Engineering department at Utah State University invites applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher position in the area of Transportation Electrification. The researcher (Postdoctoral Fellow I) will work under the guidance of Dr. Ziqi Song, along with a team of students, researchers, and faculty. The primary purpose of this job is to support, conduct, lead, and develop research tasks. Research work focuses on (but is not limited to) system modeling and analysis of electrified public transportation systems.

Responsibilities

  1. Conduct research, including but not limited to: collecting data, analyzing data, developing optimization models, running computational experiments, preparing manuscripts, giving presentations, and other responsibilities as requested.
  2. Pursue extramural funding, including searching for grant opportunities, strategizing about research plans, and preparing grant applications for externally-funded research.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in a science or engineering field related to Transportation engineering, planning, modeling, or data analysis.
  • Strong publication record.
  • Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in research computer programming with competence in at least one general-purpose programming language.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with optimization and statistical software package is an advantage.
  • Experiencing working on research in the areas related to transportation network modeling, electrified public transportation, and automated transportation systems.
