Overview

Utah State University (USU) in beautiful Logan, UT is looking to hire two Program Coordinators (Program Coordinator I) for the Student Orientation and Transition Services office. Responsibilities

Abbreviated Responsibilities:

 

This posting is for two positions who will collaborate and oversee a combination of the following:

  • Oversee department social media accounts including Instagram, YouTube, and the Aggie New Student Podcast.
  • Oversee department video content creation for both social media and orientation modules.
  • Collaborate with SOTS staff to maintain website continuity, accessibility, and overall office branding.
  • Collaborate with University Stakeholders to ensure system-wide orientation objectives are met, and that students receive specific information relevant to them (Office of Admissions, Office of Retention and Completion, Office of Global Engagement, Dining, Housing, Advising, Public Safety, etc.)
  • Collaborate with the Assistant Director to assist with the planning, logistics, and assessment of on-campus orientation programming for first-year students (domestic, international, and transfer students).
  • Assist with the selection and training of the orientation leaders (A-Team) and USU 1010 Connections Peer Mentors.
  • Maintain registration functions and generate data and reports when needed.
  • Assist with various other programs, such as Parent Orientation, Parent and Family Weekend, A-Day, and various recruiting events.
  • Maintain departmental websites.
  • Work closely with the Associate Director to help maintain orientation module content (Logan Transfer Students, INTL, IELI, and Study Abroad member groups).
  • Assist with the planning and execution of the USU 1010 Connections course (luminary vision, planning, branding, logistics).
  • Other responsibilities as assigned or needed in service of the overall enrollment plan.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A combination of four years of education or experience (consideration may be given for May 2023 graduates)
  • Exceptional listener and communicator who effectively conveys information verbally and in writing to both small and large groups

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with project management, event logistics, and planning
  • Experience working with international students or people from other cultures
  • Specific experience with Instagram, YouTube, and other emerging social media
  • Experience working with event logistics and planning  
  • Demonstrated supervisory or leadership experience 
  • Experience creating, composing, and editing, printed and online publications and branding
  • Experience working in orientation or advising at a college or university
  • Experience providing customer service via phone, Zoom, and/or email
  • Familiarity with Utah State University student services, academic policies and procedures, and student resources or familiarity with supporting college students
  • Proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Photoshop and/or Illustrator, Premiere Pro, Audition, etc.
  • Experience with Banner INB and SSB, CRM programs, and Omni CMS, and the willingness to learn additional software programs
  • Experience with media content creation
  • Demonstrated supervisory or leadership experience

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to build trusting relationships with customers and coworkers
  • Ability to adapt to changing conditions or work assignments, which include working occasional nights and weekends
  • Acute attention to detail
  • Ability to manage data, run reports, and analyze trends
  • Ability to maintain current knowledge of social media and marketing trends
