As part of USU Extension’s Utah Marriage Commission and the Healthy Relationships Utah initiatives, the Marketing and Outreach Manager (Marketer III) will plan, develop, and implement communication disseminated to the public. The Utah Marriage Commission provides educational services to help individuals and couples form and sustain healthy relationships and enduring marriages. See StrongerMarriage.org. Healthy Relationships Utah is an Extension initiative that offers relationship skills programs in schools, jails, and communities throughout Utah. See HealthyRelationshipsUtah.org. The incumbent will work with USU personnel and community partners to broadly publicize information about the Utah Marriage Commission, HealthyRelationshipsUtah.org, and specific grant activities. Grant activities include curriculum-based courses that are taught in-person and virtually in partnership with state agencies, youth-serving organizations, correctional facilities, alternative high-schools, and behavioral health centers throughout Utah.
Strategic, on-going community outreach and partnership development will be an important part of this position. This position is responsible for identifying, producing, and implementing community-engagement strategies that generate partnerships, increasing brand awareness, attracting funding, and effectively promoting grant-funded services. Duties will include maintaining a strong online presence (website and social media), creating and disseminating marketing materials, leading community outreach activities/events, capturing impacts, serving as the media contact, and sharing lessons learned.
The administrative offices for USU Extension and the Utah Marriage Commission are in Logan Utah, where work space is available. This position is telework eligible within the state of Utah, consistent with USU policy 330. Regardless of primary work location, we expect regular in-office time on the Logan USU campus as well as regular on-the-road outreach throughout the state of Utah.
The position can be either ¾ time or full-time. Excellent University benefits are included with an approximate value of 45% of your annual salary (see https://hr.usu.edu/benefits/). The position is supported by grants that may end over the next five years, unless renewed. Although USU has successfully renewed relationship education funding for nearly two decades, continued employment is contingent upon performance and on-going grant funding.
