Overview

Utah State University is seeking applicants for a Business Services Training Assistant. This position will use knowledge and related experience to coordinate training and development functions for Business Services.  It is an expectation that this individual will have the capability of working with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Create and implement new training initiatives for Business Services
  • Develop, coordinate, and implement Business Services professional development events and forums
  • Coordinate with the Business Services training committee to pursue their mission and priorities
  • Measure effectiveness of Business Services training initiatives
  • Facilitate future training certificate programs
  • Determine ideal spacing of trainings and manage training schedule
  • Implement training procedure for new employees
  • Create written procedure to pair with training recordings
  • Analyzes data and generates reports
  • Makes purchases in accordance with University policies and practices
  • Develops and maintains spreadsheets and databases to track information
  • May provide coordination of documents required for business transactions
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
  • This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Four years of related work experience; or an associate degree/technical training plus two years of related work experience; or a bachelor’s degree in a business field.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, analyze, and make decisions related to program content
  • Demonstrated understanding of and experience in the Microsoft Office suite

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in Business Services.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to make procedural decisions and judgments
  • Ability to coordinate and organize meetings and/or special events
  • Skilled in the use of personal computers and related software applications
  • Exceptional organizational skills including organizing resources and establishing priorities
  • Skilled at records maintenance
  • Ability to interact with students, faculty and/or staff in a team environment
  • Knowledge of communication principles, media, and marketing techniques
  • Ability to gather and analyze statistical data and generate reports
