Overview

The successful candidate for the Facilities Service Rep II position will perform custodial and other miscellaneous duties to ensure that buildings are attractive, sanitary, and safe environments for students, staff, and public. Follow daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning schedules for classrooms, kitchens, office areas, bathrooms, storage areas, and entrances. They will also direct other employees and oversee work activities for the purpose of ensuring assignments are completed in a safe, proper, and timely manner.

Responsibilities

  • Cleans buildings in assigned area, providing a healthy living environment for residents to live in.
  • Cleans carpets in assigned areas.
  • Supervises and manages employee workloads and productivity. Responsible for assigning tasks, training, giving instruction, and inspecting the quality of work, as well as meeting deadlines.
  • Ensures policy adherence.
  • Maintains a safe work environment by providing safety equipment and resources for self and hourly workers. Reports any areas of concern to supervisor or dispatch.
  • Trains new employees by providing hands-on experience with equipment and procedures.
  • Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
  • Creates and maintains a positive teamwork environment to achieve desired results.
  • Participates in staff meetings and trainings as assigned.
  • Performs other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • One year of commercial cleaning experience is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Basic computer skills.
  • Customer service skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers and customers.
  • Skilled in the use of various hand and power tools common to trade.
  • Ability to work without supervision.
  • Flexibility to clean multiple sites on a given day.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  1. Knowledge of cleaning supplies and equipment.
  2. Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques and standards.
  3. Knowledge of basic hand tools and equipment used in routine building maintenance.
  4. Knowledge of safe work practices.
  5. Ability to learn and care for an assigned area and equipment.
  6. Ability to operate cleaning equipment, such as vacuums, carpet extractors, burnishers, etc.
  7. Ability to understand chemical cleaning application and methods.
  8. Ability to identify maintenance problems that need the attention of repair personnel.
  9. Ability to understand and follow safety procedures.
  10. Ability to learn through observation and hands on experience.
  11. Ability to perform tasks without close supervision.
  12. Ability to work well under pressure; meeting multiple and sometimes conflicting deadlines
