Overview

We are looking for a professional, creative, and self-motivated person to effectively and efficiently market our academic and service programs to a broad audience through a variety of platforms. This position will plan, develop, and implement marketing strategies to promote the NDFS department and Aggie Ice Cream. This involves creating campaigns that center around student recruitment and department PR/publicity (NDFS) and publicity/advertising (Aggie Ice Cream) as well as writing, editing, and designing marketing materials; planning events and analyzing results of marketing efforts to improve upon.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a marketing plan for the department and Aggie Ice Cream that includes posting relevant content to designated platforms at least 3 times per week.
  • Write, edit, and design content, campaigns, and promotional materials for multiple formats (print, social media, physical marketing materials).
  • Ensure proper grammatical and brand standards with all marketing content.
  • Maintain and improve NDFS and AIC websites by creating new pages, making pages more user-friendly, editing, and updating.
  • Collect and analyze statistics/campaign results and then plan marketing strategies/content based on those statistics.
  • Curate and manage departmental and creamery social media accounts on different platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, and LinkedIn.
  • Create and publish the end of year departmental newsletter.
  • Communicate with faculty and staff to obtain information needed to create content consistent with the marketing plan.
  • Help plan and coordinate special events such as AIC 100-year celebration.
  • Manage a department email account.
  • Track and report analytics of the various platforms.
  • Maintain compliance with university social media and website requirements.
  • Misc tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, public relations, communications or related field OR an equivalent combination of education plus experience is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in social networking
  • Proficient in using social media platforms
  • Experience in website management

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of marketing media and funding sources.
  • Ability to gather data, analyze information, and prepare reports.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate media activities and special events.
  • Ability to manage and impart information to a range of clientele and/or media sources.
  • Database and records management skills.
  • Knowledge of marketing strategies, processes, and available resources.
  • Basic knowledge of writing for search engine optimization (SEO) and social media.
  • Excellent writing, proofreading, and editing skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
  • Computer skills, including Word, Access, PowerPoint, and Excel.
