Overview

The Liu group (www.tianbiaoliu.org) at Utah State University has an immediate opening for Postdoctoral Researcher (Postdoctoral Fellow I) to conduct research on organic and organometallic synthesis and applications of designed molecules for electrocatalysis and energy storage materials.

Responsibilities

The Postdoctoral Researcher will also prepare manuscripts and technical reports for publication and patent application and involve lab management. The team supports the successful candidate to present work at conferences and provides other visibility and training opportunities for career development. The Postdoctoral Researcher will be guided by the team PI, but highly encouraged to work autonomously and creatively as much as possible.

 

The proposed start date is as early as November 15th, 2023. Invitations for interviews will be notified after reviewing the application materials. Incomplete application will not be considered. The appointment is a full-time position and can be renewed annually for up to three years. Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Chemistry with experience in organic and organometallic synthesis from an accredited university or research institute
  • Knowledge and experience in chemical synthesis (organic and/or inorganic synthesis) and homogenous catalysis and skills in solution characterizations (NMR, EPR, IR, and UV)
  • Good written and oral communication skills in English and an ability to perform teamwork

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of electrochemistry
