Overview

The Dean’s Office at the Jon M. Huntsman School of Business is now accepting applications for a full-time undergraduate recruiter who will assist in the recruiting of undergraduate business students. The selected candidate will work with influencers at high schools and in the community to identify eligible as well as high-performing high school and transfer students to attend the Huntsman School of Business as full-time students. Recruiters plan and execute events promoting the Huntsman School. Recruiters will then nurture leads and applicants through each stage of the recruitment funnel.

 

This is an on-campus position, with the expectation to travel to high schools between Southern Idaho and along the Wasatch Front. The majority of travel will happen between September to November with some additional travel between January to March.

Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop relationships with influencers employed by high schools and in the community.
  • Recruit high-performing high school and transfer students to enroll as full-time business students on the Logan campus.
  • Develop extensive knowledge about the Huntsman School of Business, Jon M. Huntsman, Undergraduate academic programs, and our extra-curricular offerings and develop relationships with faculty and staff within the school.
  • Acquire a comprehensive knowledge of the Recruitment Funnel, encompassing the journey from initial prospect to enrolled individuals.
  • Attain a profound understanding of the admission process to Utah State University and the Huntsman School, as well as the subsequent enrollment procedures.
  • Provide consistent growth in admission and enrollment for the Huntsman School of Business undergraduate programs.
  • Plan and execute high-caliber recruiting events, that will happen both on-campus and off-campus for prospective students.

Secondary Responsibilities:

  • Sell the Huntsman School of Business experience through presentations at high schools
  • Conduct one-on-one Huntsman School information tours for potential students, parents, etc.
  • Foster and manage relationships with high school influencers (principals, teachers, and counselors) and community members.
  • In conjunction with the marketing team develop/update content for all marketing materials (brochures, emails, website, etc.) relevant to the potential student audience.
  • Manage communication plan (print, email, text, social media, etc.) to ensure communication is set out to the appropriate audience at the appropriate time.
  • Filter and answer questions about the Huntsman School for potential students, parents, current students, and employers.
  • Advise Business Ambassadors, who are current business students (18-20) who assist in recruiting efforts.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in recruiting, admissions, registration, or a student services, or a related area or a Bachelor's degree.
  • Excellent skills in oral and written communication.
  • Extensive public speaking experience.
  • Event development and coordination.
  • Willingness to travel (50% of the position), evening, and weekend work.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and social media networks, and a willingness to learn new computer programs.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce and Recruiter CRM Software.
  • Familiarity with Signal Vine or another texting platform.
  • Experience with multicultural populations.
  • Education or experience in public relations/marketing.
  • Strong computer skills and web publishing experience.
  • Supervision of students and/or student groups.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

This category includes various skills and abilities that are valuable for the position but may not necessarily be required qualifications. These are:

  • Ability to work with a variety of audiences, including prospective students (traditional & non-traditional), parents, influencers (principals, teachers, counselors, and community members), and alumni.
