Overview

We are seeking a skilled worker to join our team for various farm operations. Responsibilities include routine maintenance, planting, tillage, haying, silage chopping, mowing, irrigating, and maintaining irrigation equipment. Ideal candidates will possess experience in irrigation systems, heavy equipment operation, farm machinery operation, and hold a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL). Basic computer proficiency is required.

Position Details:

  • Duration: Hourly position from May 1st to October.
  • Availability: Flexibility required for days, evenings, and weekends as per operational needs.
  • Physical Requirements: The job involves bending, lifting heavy objects, and prolonged standing.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in farm operations.
  • Proficiency in operating heavy machinery.
  • Familiarity with irrigation systems.
  • Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

  • Experience in operating and maintaining irrigation systems, heavy equipment, farm machinery, and holding a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) for heavy truck operation.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • 2 years of experience in agriculture work.
  • 2 years of experience operating construction and/or farm equipment.
  • Ability to perform routine maintenance on trucks, tractors, implements, and other equipment.
  • Willingness to work a versatile schedule, primarily during, but not limited to, normal business hours.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with driving experience.
  • GPS Auto Guidance Experience

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 

  • Self-motivated individual capable of working independently.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform hard work and handle physically demanding tasks.
  • Comfortable working in various conditions and environments, including dirty or adverse weather conditions.
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with managers, researchers, and professors, adapting to different ideas and personalities.

This position requires moderate physical activity. Employees must have sufficient strength to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position including moderate lifting (up to 50 pounds), walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, and squatting.  This position requires nearly continuous standing, repetitive hand motions, and reaching overhead.  Employees may be exposed to unusual elements including extreme temperatures, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.
