Overview

The Sponsored Programs Office (SPO) is looking for a motivated, dynamic, highly organized individual to join our team as a Grant and Contract Assistant (GCA). The GCA will provide support for the data entry and budget creation aspects of new/existing externally sponsored projects across the University. The GCA also assists with the close out of grants, contracts, and routing of other agreements. As time permits, the GCA will also assist with other aspects within Sponsored Programs in regard to pre-award, post-award, and sub-award processes.

 

This position is telework eligible within the state of Utah. Telework outside of the state of Utah is subject to review and approval by the University prior to a job offer being extended.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Post-Award team with data entry into Kuali. This may include the setup of new awards, creation of budgets, uploading files, and closing out awards.
  • Assist with the tracking and workflow of award tasks and closeouts. This may include notifying appropriate recipients of new awards and modifications and reviewing awards for closeout compliance.
  • Performs work using various databases and electronic systems.
  • Engages in professional development and educational opportunities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Effective written and verbal interpersonal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Work experience in a higher education setting.
  • Knowledge of federal requirements as it relates to sponsored projects.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to work independently, effectively, and efficiently under tight time constraints.
  • Ability to cultivate positive relationships with faculty and staff.
