Overview

The Business Services team for Marketing & Communications, Strategic Enrollment Management, and Online and Digital Learning is seeking a Business Assistant II who will serve as the travel specialist, non-capital asset inventory coordinator, and financial index review lead. The successful candidate will use advanced knowledge, developed skills and experience to complete tasks while coordinating complex office/business functions within established procedures. Expectations include routinely exercising judgment and make decisions affecting tasks or procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible to process travel requests in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Develop and maintain record keeping systems, including inventory.
  • Review and reconcile financial records.
  • Coordinate approvals and documentation required for business transactions.
  • Monitor and enforce compliance to established university policies and procedures.
  • Attend trainings to stay current on policies and procedures.
  • Work on special projects and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Four years of related work experience; or an associate degree/technical training plus two years of related work experience; or a bachelor's degree in a business field is required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential business data and personal information.
  • Demonstrated ability to work productively in a team environment.
  • Excellent customer service skills and the ability to develop relationships that promote open communication and create strong strategic business decisions.
  • Established proficiency with management reporting systems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and presentations skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to provide creative solutions.
  • Dependable, strong work ethic and a proven work history.
  • Knowledge of accounts reconciliation and ability to reconcile accounts.
  • Knowledge of methods, practices, and terminology used in preparing and maintaining financial and statistical records/reports.
  • Skilled with basic office equipment, including printers, copiers, and telephone systems.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Ability to work without supervision.
  • Knowledge of University policies and procedures.
  • Experience using finance enterprise systems and software including a full range of Microsoft products, including spreadsheets and relational databases.
