Overview

The Classroom Facilitator will be working at the Utah State University Uintah Basin campus in Roosevelt, UT. Current work shift needed is Monday-Friday from 4:30 PM-10:30 PM, although hours are varied depending on need and will be scheduled anywhere between 7:30 AM to 10:30 PM Monday through Friday, and other times as assigned. Hours will be less than 28 hours per week and will change each semester.

Responsibilities

  • Assist students and instructors by operating classroom equipment that is essential to the delivery of interactive video conference (IVC) classes.
  • Distribute and collect classroom materials, proctor exams and quizzes, and maintain a proper quiet learning environment.
  • Maintain accurate class rolls, attendance records, and classroom materials tracking procedure records.
  • Act as a liaison between students, university instructors, and university administrators.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Position requires knowledge of computers, use of email, and willingness to learn simple technology skills.
  • Dependability, punctuality, and integrity are vital.
  • Employees must be professional and dependable, must have access to reliable transportation and be punctual, and must have access to Internet (for email).
  • Employees must maintain confidentiality of student information and be able to communicate effectively.
  • Preference will be given to candidates who have previous college education and understand the relationship between students and instructors.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to adapt to changing conditions or work assignments.
  • Cultural sensitivity and an ability to build rapport with a diverse workforce in multicultural settings.
  • Self-starter who takes initiative with minimal supervision.
  • Willingness to learn new skills or techniques.

Employees work indoors and are protected from weather and/or contaminants, but not, necessarily, occasional temperature changes.  The employee is regularly required to sit and often uses repetitive hand motions.
