Overview

Utah State University Moab (USU Moab) is seeking a Student Programs Coordinator (Program Coordinator I) to support student recruitment and concurrent enrollment efforts on the USU Moab campus. As part of USU’s mission to provide accessible academic programs throughout the state, this position will be physically located at the USU Moab Center in Moab, Utah, and will serve the surrounding areas.

 

Under the direction of the USU Moab Associate Campus Director and in collaboration with the Recruitment and Admissions Office and the Concurrent Enrollment Office, the Student Programs Coordinator will assist in planning, implementing, and managing concurrent enrollment programs while also recruiting students to USU Moab. This role requires strong coordination with internal and external stakeholders to align concurrent enrollment and recruitment opportunities with Utah State University’s mission.

Responsibilities

Concurrent Enrollment Coordination:

  • Serve as the primary liaison between USU Moab and the Concurrent Enrollment Office in Logan, UT.
  • Oversee all concurrent enrollment responsibilities within Grand County, UT.
  • Coordinate with high school staff and leadership to facilitate concurrent enrollment programs.
  • Educate students and parents about concurrent enrollment opportunities, processes, and benefits.
  • Develop and implement strategies to promote concurrent enrollment within Grand County.
  • Support students in registering for concurrent enrollment courses and navigating the enrollment process.
  • Increase engagement in concurrent enrollment through outreach and support initiatives.

Student Recruitment and Admissions:

  • Develop and implement recruitment strategies to increase applications and enrollment at USU Moab.
  • Coordinate recruitment and admissions activities with USU Statewide and Logan offices.
  • Organize and lead recruitment events, including open houses and on-campus programs.
  • Host "Next Step Night" to assist admitted students in transitioning to enrolled status.
  • Actively promote USU Moab in Grand County and other areas to attract prospective students.
  • Assist students throughout the application and admissions process, providing guidance and support.
  • Conduct recruiting events across Grand County, UT, to engage potential students and community members.
  • Advise Student Ambassador(s)

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate degree plus two years of related work experience; or a bachelor’s degree in a related field; or an equivalent combination of education plus experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of research and information gathering methods and procedures.
  • If applicable, knowledge of grant development, implementation, budgeting, fiscal control, and reporting.
  • Ability to make administrative/procedural decisions and judgments.
  • Ability to coordinate and organize meetings and/or special events.
  • Skilled in the use of personal computers and related software applications.
  • Skilled in organizing resources and establishing priorities.
  • Skilled at records maintenance.
  • Ability to lead and train staff and/or students.
  • Ability to interact with students, faculty and/or staff in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of communication principles, media, and marketing techniques.
  • Ability to gather and analyze statistical data and generate reports.
  • Program specific knowledge, skills, and abilities as described in recruitment notice.
  • Ability to exercise a high level of creativity, decision making, problem solving, and discretion as work is varied and may be undefined.
