  • Injury Assessment: Utilize your expertise to assess injuries accurately and efficiently.
  • Injury Referrals: Make informed referrals to ensure our athletes receive the best possible care.
  • Injury Care Management: Implement effective care plans to aid in the recovery process.
  • Return to Play: Safely guide athletes through the return-to-play process.
  • Emergency Care: Be prepared to act swiftly and decisively in emergency situations.
  • Communication: Foster clear and effective communication with various stakeholders.
  • Administration: Handle administrative tasks with precision and attention to detail.

In this dynamic role, you will report to the Associate Athletic Director for Sports Medicine, and you'll collaborate with a diverse array of individuals, including student-athletes, athletic training staff, coaches, administrators, physicians, and other campus departments. The ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and strategize effectively is essential.

 

This Athletic trainer would primarily work with the Division I Women's Basketball team; other team assignments will be made as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain professional competency by successful completion of Continuing Education Units to retain Athletic Trainer Certification by the NATA Board of Certification and athletic training licensing requirements for the state of Utah.
  • Organize and manage athletic training program, including physician consultation, medical record keeping, public relations, inventory reports, and maintain upkeep of training room and equipment.
  • Evaluate injuries and plan treatment programs for male and female student athletes, perform taping and other injury prevention activities, provide rehabilitation of injuries, respond to emergency situations, analyzing conditions and making appropriate responses.
  • Coordinate interactions and activities between the athletic department and various entities on and off campus.
  • Report directly to the Head Athletic Trainer.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Athletic Training or related healthcare field
  • NATA Certification
  • Utah State Licensure eligible
  • CPR/AED/First Aid certified
  • D1 experience

Preferred Qualification:

  • Blue Ocean Electronic Medical Record experience
  • Two (2) years of D1 experience
